The Herald: Senator John Ito, d. Aug. 12, 2052

Aug 12, 2052
Senator John Ito (A-NVA) was assassinated today on the steps of the Capital building while speaking before a Humanis march on Washington.  He was 52.

At the rally, he gave a firebrand speech denouncing the 2023 Supreme Court ruling striking down the 14th Amendment, citing state sovereignty.  He additionally blamed the court ruling for the destruction of the United States.  Eyewitness reports suggest a riot ensued during Senator Ito's speech, resulting in shots fired from both the crowd and from Humanis protesters.  Of the 14 wounded, 5 were pronounced dead on the scene, including Sen. John Ito, A-VA. Six Humanis marchers were arrested and charged, including Justin McDonald, who witnesses say opened fire with an assault rifle concealed beneath his robe.

Note: This should read A, NVA.
Sen. Ito was known for his stands on strong state sovereignty, unionism, and had cracked down on the mob heavily. The Federal Police have reported investigation is still pending.
