Given Wizards of the Coast's new, Super Intuitive web site, I figured I would index all of the PDF content for D&D 5th I could find for some ease of use.
Starting with the D&D Basic Rules leaves players with a great deal of content, but they've released quite a bit more in their two seasons of content Tyranny of Dragons and now Elemental Evil. They've supported both of these with some free content, as listed below.
Tyranny of Dragons Player's Guide has little content, but has some downtime rules, as well as factions for Forgotten Realms.
Rise of Tiamat Online Supplement details magic items and monsters.
The Elemental Evil: Princes of the Apocalypse Adventure Supplement has a number of magic items, spells, and monsters.
Elemental Evil: Player's Companion details new races, the Aarakocra (Bird men), Deep Gnomes, Genasi, Goliaths, and have a good deal of new spells to boot.
From there, you have the Unearthed Arcana web series, which so far has been interesting.
Modifying Classes details not only a guide to making custom classes, but presents a Ranger without magic, and a Favored Soul (think Sorcerer Cleric).
When Armies Clash only has mass combat rules.
Waterborne has the Minotaur race from Dragonlance, as well as a Mariner (light armor, no shield) fighting style for the Fighter, a Swashbuckler Archetype (Dual wield, high maneuverability) for the Rogue, and a Storm origin for sorcerers.
Get them before Wizards redesigns their site again and makes them even harder to find.
