The Hobbitses and Statistics

Some wonderful person cataloged statistics on Tolkien's character and extrapolated statistical demographic information.

Frodo traveled 75 miles in a single day at the very end of Return of the King.  This is the largest distance in a single day on Tolkien's record.

Smeagol is the oldest hobbit, at 589 years.

Aragorn lived to more than 200 years old, when the life expectancy of Numenorean humans was dwindling to 150 and regular men only lasting 90.

Nearly every mentioned hobbit is clustered just at 100 years old.

Dwarves also experienced a decline in life expectancy from 300 to under 200, though the author claims that this is because most dwarves mentioned by Tolkien died in battle, and there are only a number mentioned (51, compared to 446 humans and 211 hobbits).

81% of the characters Tolkien mentioned were male.  There were only two female Dwarves described.

Samwise had the most children mentioned in the entire series, at 13.

In any case, say goodbye to your afternoon.  Here you go.
