The Herald: Commissioner Weis Turns Up Heat on FedPols

Judy Weis, an outspoken opponent of the Federal Police, has called for a vote to dismantle the Federal Police tie with the commission, opening the way for individual jurisdictions to establish ties with private security contractors.

Following the lead of Seattle, the District would be one of the final metropolitan areas to privatize policing within their jurisdiction.  Weis cited the inside assistance that Tommy Valentino received in assassinating Senator Ito, the FedPols' inability to recognize an impostor within their ranks until after a high-profile security failure, a lack of adequate high-threat response available, and an inability to contain the Marconi-Mueller mafia turf war.  She claims that she has gathered the agreement of four of the eight commissioners, and that the move now has the requisite votes to pass.
