The Herald: D.C. Delegate Criticizes FedPols Following Ito Assassination

Sept. 09, 2052
Judy Weis, The delegate representing Fairfax on the D.C. Commission, calls for a full investigation of the FedPols after what she cites as their failure to stop the assassination of Senator Ito.

Following the Aug. 12 assassination, Commissioner Weis cites unnamed sources that suggest a possible link between the Federal Police in the Government district and the assassin, and calls for a full review.  She additionally condemns the Federal Police's lack of response to the apparent mob war between the Marconi family of D.C. and the Mueller family of Atlanta, which has resulted in over 150 deaths and led to almost $10 million in property damage.  She reports she has drafted a proposal to limit funding of the Federal Police and increase the use of private security companies for public safety events, and to handle high-threat response.
